Fins fail to build on victory

THERE was disappointment for Fingallians as they failed to build on the momentum of their midweek win over Swords neighbours, St Finians.

Goals from Ryan Quinlan and Eamon Creanor had saw them record a 2-15 to 1-9 win in Lawless Park on Saturday.

And while David Fagan was to have an excellent day in defence, Fingallians in the absence of influence Roscommon senior panellist, Donal Keane (broken Collarbone) was to see them concede two soft goals to Palmerstown in Glenaulin Park at the weekend.

Nonetheless Fingallians selector, Sean O'Toole, believes that the team can wrestle themselves away from the relegation zone with a bit more concentration.

'All we are trying to do is get a bit of consistency. Early on we were only getting nine scores and now we have got that up to sixteen

'So if we can stop leaking goals we should do okay.

'Everyone will go through sticky patches so the trick is not to concede goals if you can and tighten up and not concede those scores.

'If you score fourteen to sixteen points you would be expecting to win matches. We have been conceding goals of late and we have to put a stop to that'.
