Skerries tidiest town in Dublin

Town takes gold medal and finishes top of the pile in County again

Tidy Towns committees all over Fingal gathered in the Helix on Monday to hear the results of this year's national competition and many of them took home awards.

Skerries was once again top of the pile in Fingal and took two major awards.

Skerries Tidy Towns, previous national winners of the competition, took home yet another gold medal this year but even more significant than that, the coastal town was named the Tidiest Town in County Dublin.

Its near rivals in Fingal in Malahide, also netted themselves a gold medal in the competition, something they seem to be able to achieve on a near annual basis.

Swords won a silver medal in the competition plus an individual award for Matt Cullen while Lusk picked up a bronze medal.
