Parents in Swords of Dublin have been making up their mind in an online Patronage Process Survey hosted by the Department of Education and Skills for two new primary schools in Swords North and Swords South, due to open this year.

Two eight-classroom schools will open in Swords - North and South. The catchment areas for these schools covers all of Swords

The deadline for a votes to determine which education provider wins patronage of the two schools falls today, January 15.

Says Gerry McKevitt, Regional Development Officer at Educate Together, who are among the bidders for the two schools made a last-minute pitch to local parents.

He said: 'I'm a resident of Swords myself and have been involved in Educate Together since 2008.

'I've seen how Educate Together school communities grow and I'm always delighted to be part of it.

'Opening more Educate Together schools in Dublin would be a huge boost to these communities and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that our campaigning will pay off.'
