Lusk Tidy Towns has held its annual Business Premises Awards which recognises businesses in the town that have gone the extra mile to present their premises well.

This year's winner was crowned as Murray's Top Shop and there to receive their prize from Tidy Towns committee members and local TD, Darragh O'Brien were the proprietors of the establishment, Conrad and Elizabeth Murray.

As well as recognising the local business community's contribution to the village's Tidy Towns effort, there is also a special award for residents of Lusk and in particular, the local resident judged to have the best presented garden in the village.

This year, that award went to Anthony Rogan who lives in a beautiful thatched cottage in Lusk called Clay Cottage and always has his garden looking beautifully along with some gorgeous hanging baskets around the property.

Secretary of Lusk Tidy Towns, Pat Kelly passed on the committee's warm congratulations to the winners and everyone who took part.

She also has warm words of tribute to all the hard-working members of the committee for organising the awards.

she said: 'Well done to everyone in the community woh made an effort in presenting Lusk in the best possible manner.

'It is encouraging to see the effort that goes into maintaining a good standard especially with all the building development taking place in a changing Lusk.'

Ms Kelly also thanked Deputy Darragh O'Brien, TD who made himself available ont he evening to help hand out the awards to this year's worthy winners.
