Old Swords remembered with launch of 20th 'Voices'
ANOTHER highlight of Swords Heritage Week will be the launch of 'Swords Voices', the 20th in the series of memories of 'Old Swords.'
According to Bernadette Marks, this launch will take place on Tuesday, September 3rd in The Star at 8.30pm.
'This book will be our bumper edition as it is the 20th in a series,' explained Bernadette.
'The idea started off as oral memories of old Swords which was then transcribed and made into a book and as a fitting tribute to the late Mrs Margaret Thorpe, who died last year at the age of 93, we are hoping to have a photograph of her on the front cover as she sold a lot of the books over the years and was involved with the Tidy Towns," added Bernadette.
