RUSH charity, Nurture is hosting a major conference around the subject of emotional wellbeing that aims to raise awareness about the 40,000 women in Ireland diagnosed each year with a mental health illness or emotional trauma surrounding pregnancy and childbirth.

The charity hopes the conference on May 10 at the Gresham Hotel in Dublin City will help give a greater understanding to those who may experience or work in this particular area of women's psychological and emotional wellbeing.

Nurture is a young, vibrant charity, based in Rush, offering timely professional counselling and supports surrounding pregnancy and childbirth. Nurture works with women, partners and their families. It has sixteen counsellors working with the charity and offer supports in 14 counties around Ireland.

You can register and book tickets for the conference at

The charity is also gearing up for an assault on the Women's Mini-Marathon in Dublin on the June Bank Holiday.

Nurture is hoping to raise much-needed funds to expand its services and has sent its thanks to all the women who will be joining them on June 2 to help them do exactly that.

Nurture founder and CEO, Irene Lowry, said: 'By joining Team Nurture for the mini-marathon, you have a direct impact on the people we help. When you become a member of Team Nurture, you join a wonderful group of women who are dedicated to our cause of saving lives and supporting positive mental health.

If anyone has registered for the race (entries closed last Friday, April 18) but has yet to find a charity to fundraise for, they can register to join Team Nurture and then set up your sponsorship page on
