Music of Joni Mitchell

CELEBRATING the music of iconic singer songwriter Joni Mitchell and following a fantastic show in as part of the Skerries Soundwaves Festival, live band Shadows and Light are bringing Joni's songs back to Joe May's on Saturday, February 15.

Joni Mitchell's songs will be interpreted by three lovers of her music, Skerries keyboard player, Paul Enright, Maura Vambeck (vocals and guitar) and Dave Mulligan (guitars).

The band will play songs from the huge Joni repertoire.


THE council hopes to carry out pruning works on overgrown shrubbery at the end of Carrickhill Drive in Portmarnock before the end of February.

Cllr Judy Dunne (Lab) requested the work and was told by the council's operations department: 'The shrubbery at the end of Carrickhill Drive, Portmarnock will be listed for pruning works.

'It is proposed that these works be carried out before the end of February in compliance with the Wildlife Act subject to resources being available.'


SOME 185 dog owners took out dog licences in the Malahide area during 2013, new council figures have revealed.

Answering a question on the issue from Cllr Anthony Lavin, the council revealed 185 licences for dogs were purchased in Malahide in 2013 and 63 in Howth.


MALAHIDE Musical and Dramatic Society has had a council grant approved by local councillors that is expected to be rubber stamped by the full council later this month.

Councillors on the Malahide/Howth Area Committee have approved the council community arts funding grant of €3,000.

The grant is to go towards the cost of the society's production of 'It's Showtime'.
