Malahide set to host first test
History will be made when Ireland face Pakistan inaugural test
The eyes of the world will be on Malahide this Friday as the Irish cricket team make history when they face Pakistan in the inaugural Test match for the national team.
Excitement is building for fans, who are expected to flock to Malahide Cricket Club for the start of the five-day Test.
Club chairman Ciaran Keohane said everything is in place to ensure the historic occasion goes off without any hitches.
According to Keohane, the knock-on benefits to Malahide are set to be huge, given all the eyes that will be focused on this match.
'This is such a great occasion not only for Irish cricket but also for Malahide. Local businesses are going to receive huge benefits from all the people passing through and there will also be benefits with regards to tourism as our beautiful village will be showcased across the world.
'Everybody here in the club is so excited about the match and we just can't wait to get going at this stage.'
