Lord Mayor's event raises over €5,000 for St Francis Hospice

John Manning

St Francis Hospice have gratefully received a considerable cheque from a fundraising team who held an event held at the Lord Mayor's Pub in Swords to raise money for the hospice on New Year's Eve.

The money has since been counted and a cheque handed over to St Francis Hospice for well over €5,000.

Over the years, St Francis Hospice has been closely associated with the Lord Mayors staff and its many patrons.

The event was very generously supported by several of the local businesses within the area.

Grateful appreciation from the organisers goes to to Claire Dwyer, manager of the Lord Mayors and all her staff for facilitating the evening and also providing complementary food for all in attendance.

Special thanks also to the Savage family for their continuous support of this very worthy cause.

It was a great fun night with music provided by local musicians Joey Kane and Ronan Fleming. As a result of many generous donations, together with a raffle and auction on the evening a fantastic total of €5210 was raised for the Hospice. A special mention goes to Agnes Ferrick, Gerry McElroy, Tony Dunne, Christy Core, Tommy Fox, Claire Dwyer and Con Dalton for all their efforts in ensuring a most enjoyable and hugely successful event.

To date, the Lord Mayors has raised in excess of €55,000 and will continue to support St Francis Hospice.
