Fingal Ravens rave about Butsy

A good, honest, modest man is how Fingal Ravens have described their clubman and now six-time All-Ireland winner, Darren 'Butsy' Daly.

Alan Manning is a first team selector who misses Darren from the Ravens when his Dubs commitments take him away but roars him on from the stands of Croke Park, as he did on Sunday.

Alan was delighted to see Darren come on in the 58th minute to make his mark on the game and made the point that the Fingal Ravens player is one of only three players who have played in every Championship game for the Dubs, this season.

Alan said: 'As a club we are hugely proud of his achievements, going back to winning the Junior All-Ireland in 2008 and now with six All-Ireland winners medals.'

Darren's clubmate said the six-time All-Ireland winner has eclipsed every other play in the club's history in therms of his roll of honour and is a once in a generation player for a village club like Rolestown, although he says he 'lives in hope' the club will find another one to match Butsy's achievements.

Two of Darren's children play with the club's juveniles now and the Dalys are a part of the fabric of Fingal Ravens.

Alan said the club is now looking forward to having Darren back in black and white and helping the club fight a relegation battle in their last two league games.

He congratulated Darren on his incredible achievement and described his clubmate as a 'good, honest and modest man.'

We are sure everyone at Fingal Ravens would agree.
