Fingal nominees in Best of Dublin awards

A leading Fingal sportsperson, a top Fingal sports club and several local businesses have been shortlisted for 98FM's Best of Dublin Awards, which celebrates all that's great in our capital city.

Now in its sixth year, the competition recognises Dublin's 'hidden gems' - people and businesses which have been nominated by thousands of 98FM's listeners.

Award categories cover all the best services Dublin has to offer, including local legends, favourite food and drink venues, best sports club, and even best bus driver.

Shortlisted for Fingal this year were Dublin ladies GAA captain and Malahide St Sylvester's player Sinead Aherne; O'Dwers GAA Club, Balbriggan ('Best Sports Club'); Hairs Another Salon, Swords ('Best Salon'); Man Up Barbers, Lusk ('Best Barbers'); and Pomodorino, Swords ('Best Restaurant'.)

Five deserving nominees were shortlisted in each of the 16 categories, and one from each will be crowned the Best of Dublin at an awards ceremony on 23rd May at the Guinness Storehouse.

Speaking about the awards, 98FM presenter Adrian Kennedy said: 'Every year the Best of Dublin Awards are a highlight on our calendar. It's a great night and a chance to celebrate the people that make Dublin so special.

'Each award celebrates the businesses and people that go above and beyond and make Dublin one of the best cities in the world.

'We love seeing the passion people have for Dublin and the awards are a great opportunity for 98FM and Dubliners to say thank you!'

Those shortlisted for 98FM's Best of Dublin can also be in with a chance to win a €10,000 worth of advertising with 98FM for the Best Campaign between now and the awards ceremony.
