Fingal GAA players get scholarship

DCU sport scholarships awarded

Several students from Fingla have been awarded sport scholarships for Dublin City University in recognition for their contribution to the GAA both with the university and their clubs.

Emma Colgan, a fourth year student in Business Studies, received a scholarship for Ladies Football. Emma plays for Fingallians and DCU.

Sinead Finnegan, a first year Professional Masters of Education (PME), received a scholarship for Ladies Football. Sinead plays for Fingallians and DCU.

Emer Ní Eafa, a third year student in Health and Society, received a scholarship for Ladies Football. Emer plays for Fingallians and DCU.

Karl Lynch Bissitt, a first year student, received a scholarship for Gaelic Football. Karl plays for Naomh Mearnog and DCU.

Tommy Kinane, a first year student in Athletic Therapy & Training (ATT), received his scholarship for his contribution to Hurling. Tommy plays for Naomh Mearnog and DCU.

Stephen Smith, a third year student in Business Studies, received his scholarship for Gaelic Football. Stephen plays for Skerries Harps and DCU.

Danielle Lawless, a first year student in Sports Science and Health for Ladies Football. Danielle plays for St. Sylvesters and DCU.

Speaking of the scholarships, President of DCU Professor Brian MacCraith addressed the attendees: 'The awarding of these scholarships is a recognition that DCU's high-performance athletes need support in order to successfully balance the demands of their sporting and academic commitments.'
