Employment skills programme

FINGAL Leader Partnership and FÁS are combining to deliver an employment skills programme for job seekers in Balbriggan.

The course covers topics like career planning, communications, functional mathematics, customer service, interculturalism, personal and interpersonal development, work experience, information technology and teamworking. The aim of the programme is to provide learners with key transferable employment skills, or to enable them to progress to further education and training. The transferable skills include an ability to communicate competently, both verbally and non-verbally. Students will also develop relevant numeracy skills and the ability to design and implement action plans to assist them along their chosen career path. This programme leads to a FETAC Level 4 Major Award in Employment Skills for learners who meet the award requirements. It is suitable for young adults over 18 years of age. Junior Certificate or higher is preferred in candidates who should also have good literacy, numeracy and communication skills. This full-time course is FÁS funded, and will be of 31 weeks duration and is due to commence on Monday, November 19.
