DPCC achieves top standard
LOCAL haven of community and recreation, Donabate Portrane Community & Leisure Centre (DPCC) has excelled yet again by graduating with first class honours as they were awarded the highly coveted National Q Mark Award for Leisure Centres at a ceremony in Dublin.
The Q Mark for Leisure Centres is awarded only to organisations that achieve the highest standards of quality and excellence.
Having been developed in conjunction with the Irish Hotel Federation (IHF) and independent members of the Leisure Industry, the Q Mark standard ensures that DPCC not only meets, but exceeds legal regulations and standards.
General Manager at the community centre, Jacinta Lowndes said: 'Our vision for the DPCC has always been to provide a focal point within the community.
'Our doors are open to all to facilitate learning, health and fitness and to provide training and employment opportunities to the local community.'
She added: 'Being awarded The Q Mark is testament to the hard work, enthusiasm and commitment of all of our staff. It is a wonderful example of what can be achieved through excellent team work.'
Created in partnership with Fingal County Council and DSP, Donabate Portrane Community & Leisure Centre (DPCC) employs 40 full and part time staff and is a state of the art leisure centre which incorporates a modern gym and health suite, a coffee shop, Montessori school, meeting rooms and a sports hall and Fingal County Council library.
