Council open up opportunity for talented Fingal artists

Fingal County Council Arts Office in partnership with the RHA School are offering an opportunity of a funded studio space for a professional artist for the period of one year.

The residency will commence in December 2018.

The award offers an artist the opportunity to develop their practice within the institutional framework of the RHA and covers the cost of studio rental and administration.

The award is open to practising artists at all stages in their professional careers working in visual art.

To be eligible to apply, applicants must have been born, have studied, or currently reside in the Fingal administrative area.

Artists wishing to be considered should apply by completing the application form on the RHA's website.

The deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday, September 28, 2018. Please note that applications are only available online via the RHA website

Meanwhile, artists are also invited by Fingal County Council to apply for the use of the unique art studio that is the restored Loughshinny Boathouse.

The boathouse is a dual purpose building providing a lifeguard station for lifeguards and a day studio for artists.

The objective of the studio is to provide a working space for professional Irish and International artists working in all art disciplines to develop their artistic practice.

The studio which is non-residential and fully subsidised is available for three months to one year from October 2018. The space is fully equipped with a sink and storage units.
