BSD dance to IGT victory!

A brilliant dance troupe from Swords has swept to victory in Ireland's Got Talent and become the first 'golden buzzer' act to win the competition.

It was something of a Fingal clean sweep as the winning act was mentored by our own Jason Byrne.

Jason had given the troupe his 'golden buzzer' earlier in the competition advancing them straight to the latter stages.

At the weekend, the live final took place and the Swords troupe danced their way to a stunning victory and in just a few short weeks have become the best known dance troupe in the country.

Jason Byrne who lives in Oldtown was first to congratulate his act, saying: 'Well done my golden buzzers!'

In winning the competition, the troupe took home €50,000 which will be a huge help to them going forward.

There was a huge outpouring of joy and appreciation for the act when they finished their winning number and finally as their name was announced by Lucy Kennedy as the winners of this year's competition.

BSD were not the only Fingal participants in the final night of the competition at the weekend.

Fingal also was represented among the inspirational Sea of Change Choir who hail from all corners of the country, including right here in north County Dublin and are made up entirely of cancer survivors.

They took on Eurythmics number Sister's Are Doin' For Themselves after being granted the Wild Card to come back into the competition.

As judge Denise's Golden Buzzer act, she said: 'I am so proud and I want to thank my fellow judges for agreeing to you coming back, you are everything this show is about.'
