Brilliant production of timeless fairytale

CINDERELLA DONNED her glass slippers and made a visit to Lusk last week for a staging of the popular pantomime by Power Drama School.

A cast of 29 from the school staged the brilliant production at the Carnegie Library in Lusk and thrilled local audiences with two performances of the show. Children aged from six to 14 made up the cast and were kept busy through the performances not only with having to remember their lines but also managing some 120 costume changes in the course of the show. Power Drama School runs weekly drama classes for children from six to 17 in St Macullin's Centre in Lusk on Saturday mornings.

The school also provide after-school drama classes in Rush and Lusk Educate Together. In addition to all its work with children, it also helps introduce the joy of dram to adults in its drama workshops run on Wednesday nights in the Carnegie Library in Lusk. The school says its drama classes for children are about providing them with an opportunity to use their imagination, learn new skills, improve their self-confidence, meet new people and most of all, have fun in a safe and supportive environment.

Power Drama School is committed to staging two productions each year, one at Christmas and one in the summer and all members will have an opportunity to perform in those shows as well as taking part in the annual St Patrick's Day Parade in Lusk.
