Brass-necked St Patrick's raid
Alleged would-be thieves attempted to steal from Balbriggan's St Patrick's Brass and Reed Band, last week but they blew it.
The band room was broken into on the night of August 28 but a local witnessed a male entering the building and raised the alarm.
Gardai were quickly on the scene and found a window smashed but nothing was taken in the alleged attempted robbery.
The raid did put the band room out of action for some time but the St Vincent De Paul has stepped up to the plate to help, offering the use of a room at its Sunshine Home for practice until the clean-up is complete.
The temporary new home has allowed to the band to play on and meant band practice was uninterrupted by the unwelcome guests who tried to stop the music.
