Act before life lost at Nags Head junction
The Nags Head junction in Naul has been declared an accident black spot by a new Fine Gael local area representative for the newly formed Rush and Lusk electoral area.
Jim Nugent will run in the next local elections in the electoral area which also takes in the Donabate and Portrane peninsula and the rural villages.
A resident of Naul, he told the Fingal Independent that the Nags Head had seen two serious road accidents in the last week and six this year.
He said: 'I spoke with residents at the Nags Head junction regarding the constant stream of accidents right there at the crossroads.
'There has been two already this week, one of which saw a pensioner from the area seriously injured.'
Mr Nugent called for immediate action to make the area safer and said: 'We urgently need safety measures installed at the junction.'
The local area representative believes this is potentially a life or death issue.
He concluded: 'Local people are pleading with Fingal County Council to act now before a life is lost here.'
