A summer of success in store for Director
IT'S shaping up to be another big summer for Malahide's finest, Director, with a new album, single and tour all on the cards.
The four-piece will release new single 'Sing It Without A Tune' on Friday, May 1st, on their own Crapshoot Economics label.
A week later, the band unveil their longawaited brand new album, entitled 'I'll Wait For Sound', the followup to their platinumselling debut record, ' We Thrive On Big Cities'. Produced in Los Angeles by Brad Wood, who has worked with Smashing Pumpkins and Placebo, and mixed by Barny Barnicott (Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, Kasabian), it's been almost two years in the making. According to the band's record company, the new single 'boasts a stronger, more integral sound' which is ' certainly a good omen for the forthcoming album'.
Described as cogent, driving dancefloorrock, which 'moves effortlessly between wistfulness and exultation', the track will look to hit the heights of Director's biggest hits to date, 'Reconnect' and 'Big Cities'.
As if that's not enough, the band have also announced some initial live dates, with a full tour to be revealed soon.
They're back in the home county on Sunday, April 26th as part of an FM104 charity gig at the Olympia and will also play The Button Factory on Saturday, May 22nd.
