The Remember Us Biennial Golf Fundraising Classic teed off in Balbriggan Golf Club recently, a biennial event held by the Balbriggan social group, which caters for those with special needs and their families.

This year, the Golf Classic helped raise funds for installing air conditioning/ventilation for the club's new base in Balbriggan, which turned out to be a fantastic day benefiting a very a worthy cause.

Nora Roban, founder of Remember Us explains: 'The day was a huge success, and we're extremely grateful to everybody who supported it. We're very grateful to Balbriggan Golf Club, and particularly the Captain, the President, the Vice-Captain and also to Balbriggan Golf Club in general for supporting us on the day.

'Our members were there on the day to help us out as well, giving out goodie bags and helping out with various things.'

The Golf Classic, a four-person scramble, saw thirty six teams play on the day, with twenty sponsored tee boxes.

Eleven golf prizes were awarded to the top golfers, as well as a 'nearest the pin' prize, a 'longest drive' prize for male and female and fourteen raffle prizes.

Nora says: 'We would like to thank everybody who sponsored tees, gave donations, gave various spot prizes and everything else. A million thanks from our members to everybody who supported the day. It was a great event, and we'll run it again in 2021 please God.'
