You're invited to burst a bubble in Malahide

Around Fingal

Burst a bubble later this month when the 5km Bubble Rush run comes to Malahide Castle, a family fun event in aid of Make-A-Wish Ireland.

Families from across Dublin and the surrounding area are invited by Make-A-Wish Ireland to sign up for the event, which takes place on Sunday August 11 from 10am to 1pm (run starts at 11am.)

Bubble Rush is a fun run with a difference. It begins in a sea of foam, with four bubble stations pumping out masses of coloured bubbles along the course.

Bubble Rush is not a race, the event isn't timed and there's no pressure to run.

The two-lap course is pushchair and wheelchair-friendly, so everyone in the family can take part.

There is no minimum fundraising requirement to take part, but Make-A-Wish Ireland are encouraging people to raise sponsorship or make a donation to show their support for the charity.

Susan O'Dwyer, Chief Executive at Make-A-Wish said: 'We are always looking to organise new events for our supporters to join in, and we're sure Bubble Rush will be a fun run like no other!

'We hope lots of families will join us at Malahide Castle and enjoy the foamiest fun run Ireland has ever experienced!'

Make-A-Wish Ireland has been creating life-changing wishes for children with serious illnesses since 1992.

Every day, the charity receives applications from families in need of help, and enables children's wishes to come true allowing them to escape routines of hospital visits and treatments, replacing them with carefree, life-changing experiences.

As of today, Make-A-Wish has one-hundred-and-ninety-eight children on their waiting list.

The charity has never turned away an eligible child and needs your help to continue their work.

Sign up to fundraise at and add to your Bubble Rush experience.

Tickets for Bubble Rush Dublin can be purchased online until Thursday August 9. Tickets cost €27 for and adult and €14 for children (aged 3-15.) Family tickets cost €65 for a family of four and €70 for a family of five.
