Fingal Water Babies are busy fundraising for Water Babies Splashathon 2017, a sponsored swim for babies and toddlers which is taking place at Water Babies Classes in Roganstown Hotel, St Michaels Belcamp and St Marys Hospital in Baldoyle.

This year's Splashathon will raise vital funds for Our Lady's Children's Hospital Crumlin.

During Water Babies Splashathon, babies and toddlers from Fingal, with help from their mums and dads, will complete a "Cead Mile Splashes' to raise funds for the Nazareth Ward at Crumlin Hospital.

Water Babies Splashathon is a fantastic fun way to make a real and lasting difference to sick babies and their parents from across Ireland.

The tiniest patients are cared for in the Nazareth ward, which is one of the oldest wards in the hospital. It was never designed to treat the number of patients it currently does and whilst each and every patient receives world class care from the hero doctors and nurses, there just isn't enough room in the tiny 1960's cubicles for parents to be with their precious children.

Carol McNally from Water Babies Ireland said: 'Water Babies Splashathon has raised over €100,000 euros since we launched Water Babies in Ireland eight years ago. With over 4000 babies swimming every week across Ireland and participating in Splashathon we look forward to adding significantly to this figure and raising much needed funds for Nazareth Ward at Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children in Crumlin.'
