Swords Lions Club tee off to raise funds for Snowflakes charity
A Swords-based autism charity was the beneficiary of a recent fundraising event run by Swords Lions Club.
The Lions Club held its 21st annual golf classic recently at Coorstown Golf Club in aid of Swords autism charity, Snowflakes.
A spokesperson for the Lions Club explained: 'We had 23 teams participating on the day.
'The competition was a champagne scramble with a shotgun start.
'We would like to acknowledge all our sponsors and the many businesses in Swords who donated so generously to our various charities.
'The weather was great and all participants enjoyed a buffet meal prior to the prize giving ceremony.'
The Swords Lions club supports various causes such as the annual Christmas food appeal , senior citizens holidays, daffodil day , suicide awareness, alcohol and drug awareness as well as many other good causes.
Snowflakes will be grateful for their help and no doubt will put the money to very good use.
