Students win scholarships

Several Fingal students are among 212 from Dublin that have each been presented with a €500 Academic Scholarship to study at DCU in recognition of achieving more than 550 points in the Leaving Certificate.

Among the recipients were Anna Mulligan, former student of Portmarnock Community School and currently a first year student in Analytical Science and Andrea Jones, former student of Malahide Community School and currently a first year student in Jazz and Contemporary music performance.

Also successful was Darragh Hewson, former student of Castleknock Community College and currently a first year student in International Relations and James Murphy, former student of Castleknock College, Dublin and currently a first year student in Global Business (USA).

Marlon Kearns, former student of Sutton Park School, Dublin and currently a first year student in Marketing, Innovation and Technology also secured a scholarship as did Paddy Fay-Watt, former student of Skerries Community College and currently a first year student in Global Business (Spain) and Róisín Bríd Boyle, former student of Malahide Community School and currently a first year student in Communication Studies.

Over €60,000 worth of scholarships were presented to fresher students at DCU amd were distributed at a special presentation ceremony at the Helix.
