Speed limit review around Naul village

Speeding through Naul village has long been a concern for local residents and in response to those concerns, the issue has again been raised at county council level.

At a recent Area Committee meeting Cllr Cathal Boland (NP) asked the council 'should the speed limit review recommend the extension of the 30km limit north on the R122 as it passes out of the Naul Village until it passes the entrance to the GAA club entrance consider locating a pedestrian crossing south of the turn on to this section of road'.

In response, a council report on the issue stated: 'As part of the 2019 Speed Limit Review it is proposed that the speed limit of 50kph is extended to the county boundary along the R108. This proposal has yet to go for public consultation. Pending the completion of the above process the location will be then considered for additional traffic management measures.'
