Siemens in Swords display their social responsibility
As part of its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, the Siemens Healthineers Laboratory Diagnostics manufacturing operation in Swords has launched its CSR display area, to promote awareness of its ongoing activities throughout the site.
The display area was formally opened by Tina Roche, CEO of Business in the Community Ireland, following a twelve months development period.
A newly established CSR Team completed work on the CSR Display Area to be positioned inside the main employee entrance with the aim to promote ongoing awareness and communications regarding the various CSR activities the site continues to support.
Tina said: 'I congratulate Siemens Healthineers on driving their CSR and sustainability agenda forward.
'Congratulations to the team on developing their CSR exhibition so that all their colleagues and visitors can review the organisation's commitment to sustainability.'
Ahead of the project, a specialist CSR team was formed to drive the programme.
Mike Farrell, Senior Leadership Team Sponsor of the project said: 'Team Swords has had a long and active CSR programme, and this new display goes a long way towards promoting the activities we continue to support in the name of improving the quality of life for our employees and society in general.'
Fred O'Brien, Managing Director of Swords summed up the following: 'We don't just work here, we live here. And in those quiet moments when you reflect on what you achieved last week, last year or indeed over your career, somewhere towards the top of the list will be those times when you gave something back to your community - something you did, not because you had to, but because someone had a need. For these moments take a bow, you made a difference.'
