The riders who excelled on the bike over a busy cycling season this year, were rewarded at the McNally Swords Cycling club awards night held recently at the Carnegie Court Hotel.

The club's newly appointed chairman, Terry Quinlan was thrust right into the spotlight as he did the honours, presenting the awards on the night.

Terry is a long-standing member of the local cycling club and succeeds the late Johnny O'Sullivan as president who was a founder member of the Swords club.

The club's AGM was held on the same night and members heard of a thriving local club with over 250 members regularly participating in cycling events who are drawn from all corners of Fingal with the club's reach extending far beyond Swords.

On the night a presentation took place to acknowledge all the winners of the 2017 Humphries Touring League and the Joe McNally Racing League.

McNally Swords Cycling Club continues to welcome new members for their racing and touring sections.

The club has been in operation for over 30 years now and continues to go from strength to strength each year and if you are interested in getting involved, this friendly and active club will be more than delighted to hear from you.

There are a number of organised spins that take place every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, run by the club and it is important to not that the club runs events which cater for different levels of ability. Check out www.swordscc.com for more information.
