Lusk Community College TY Student of the Year nominated for a national award

Lusk Community College's TY Student of the Year has been selected as one of eight finalists for a national award.

Lusk CC TY Student of the Year Niamh Rafferty has be selected as one of the eight finalists by Transition Year Ireland in an National Award called the Richard Burke TY Personified Award.

The award aims to identify the student in Ireland that best represents the mission and aims of Transition Year and who has been proactive in fulfilling their own potential.

Niamh fully embraced Transition Year. She took part in work experiences in the Royal College of Surgeons and Cooke Academy and took part in many competitions such as AIB Build a Bank, SCI fest, Student Enterprise and Young Social Innovators. She was a volunteer within the school community, she was a mentor to first years but also participated in the wider community both with Gealscoil and visiting Lusk Community Unit every Friday. She also won a Gasice Bronze medal.
