MEMBERS of St Colmcille's GAA Club along with family members and friends enjoyed a Gathering event last weekend at the clubhouse.

The event was tied in with the national The Gathering event and saw up to 20 family members of club members return from overseas for the occasion.

A total of 110 people enjoyed a three-course meal at the clubhouse and danced until the late hours to music by band 'On The Run.'

As well as holding The Gathering event, an award was given to Vinne Lawlor of the adult's team who was voted Player's Player of the Year.

And long time club member Barney Donnelly was appointed as Club President for the coming year.

'Barney has practically held every office on committee level so it's with great delight we have him now as our President,' said Tom.

Barney takes over the role from the late Mick Joyce who sadly passed away nearly 18 months ago. Mick was the club's longtime President and according to Tom his reign went into double figures.

'The Gathering event was a great occasion for the club and it was great to have people from overseas return home for it,' said Club chairman Tom Carroll.
