Efforts to get graffiti hoardings taken down

THE COUNCIL is working to remove graffiti-laden hoardings from Malahide Demesne after they came in for some criticism in the town's Tidy Town's report.

Asked to look at the problem by Cllr Anthony Lavin (FG), the council reported: ' The Tidy Towns report is dated July 9 2012. Since, then most of the containers, which were covered in graffiti, have been removed from the demesne. ' Two containers remain on site and local sports clubs will be contacted to ensure they maintain their containers graffiti-free. ' There is also some graffiti on hoarding erected on the boundaries of the Malahide Castle and Gardens construction area. This hoarding well be removed over the next few weeks as the construction works near completion.'
