Barrett Boys' Classic Day
A Ryder Cup legend graced the fairways of Hollywood Lakes Golf Club to support 'The Barrett Boys' who are living with the daily challenges of the rare condition known as Ehler-Danlos Syndrome.
The extremely rare condition affects the connective tissue in the body which means literally any part of the boys' bodies can be affected on a daily basis.
The three young brothers are the children of Ian and Mary Barrett who recently held a Golf Classic in support of the boys at Hollywood Lakes which was attended by none other than that hero of the Ryder Cup, Irish golfing great, Philip Walton.
Ian Barrett thanked everyone who took part on the day, particularly Philip Walton of course, and the event's main sponsors, the McDonagh family and Remedy Care.
Overall winners on the day were a team made up of Craig Cullen, Robert Jones and John Mangan who needed a count back on the back nine to separate them from runners-up, Ronan Smith, Paul Smith and Jim Smith.
Ladies winners on the day were a team made up of Mary White, Jan Ennis and Pauline McGrant and Colin Hayes won the 'nearest the pin' prize which included a coaching session with Philip Walton.
There were some fantastic prizes on offer in the raffle on the day too and the proceeds will go to supporting the Barrett Boys in their treatment which involves regular journeys to Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.
