After a busy Summer season playing in the Juvenile Girls Fingal League, Balbriggan GC Girls took home the Trophy and Pendant for the first time since the Fingal Junior League for Girls began in 2002.

The Finals were held at Beaverstown Golf Club.

With a narrow lead of four points from their nearest competitors Beaverstown, the girls took to the fairways at 9am. The weather conditions were very favourable and the forecasted rain did not arrive.

The final group of players finished at 1.15pm.

The results were a closely guarded secret right up to the presentation - no one had any idea of how the competition concluded.

Finally at 2.15pm, Balbriggan Golf Club Juvenile Girls were announced as the 2019 winners of the Fingal League Trophy & Pendant with a total overall Score of 44.

There were cheers and congratulations for the team from Balbriggan Golf Club supporters, including President Padraig and Maura Faughnan, Captain Pat Kinsella and Vice Captains Barry Kenna and Breegen Roche.

A spokesperson for theclub said about the victory: 'At Balbriggan Golf Club there is an extremely hard working and dedicated Juvenile Committee to encourage, mentor and help all our young members.

'We are very grateful and appreciate the work done by the Juvenile Committee and the many volunteers. We congratulate them on this great achievement for our club and wish them every success in the future. We must also thank our Professionals Nigel and Ronan for all their work with all our Juveniles. Many thanks to Beaverstown Golf Club for hosting the Fingal Trophy.'
