Active Lusk senior citizens keeping busy

LUSK Senior Citizens have been extremely active over the past number of weeks, with a number of events taking place.

The organisation held its annual party in the Glenside Hotel last month, before hosting its annual December draw. Members also distributed fuel to some citizens during the recent cold snap and the committee paid tribute to all those who supported the group during the year.

Special thanks went to Super Valu in Lusk, who sponsored prizes for the draw, as well as Conrad Murray and the staff of Top Shop, for hosting the e v e n t . The committee also acknowledged a very generous donation from Francis Knott and the members of Lusk Pheasant Club, who held a charity clay pigeon shoot at Eddie White's premises in the Naul. Thanks also went to Michael and Gabriel Hoey from Country Crest, who generously donated vegetables and potatoes to senior citizens in time for Christmas.

'We take this opportunity to thank all who supported our committee in various ways throughout the year and look forward to continuing our work in the future,' a committee spokesperson said.

'Finally, congratulations to our president, Theresa Neary, who celebrated her 90th birthday recently.'

Noel Ball was the winner of the draw, with Willie Skelly second, Catherine Kearns third, Gavin Richardson fourth and Armstrong Machinery fifth.
