'Swellegant' shop pops up at BASE

A 'Swellegant' fundraiser was recently held at BASE Resource Centre in Swords where the fashion conscious ladies of Fingal were invited to browse the rails of a pop-up shop full of beautiful 'pre-loved' occasion wear, in aid of Fingal Counselling Service.

Fingal Counselling Service is based at the centre and is s a community based voluntary counselling service providing confidential, non-directive counselling on a one-to-one basis. The service offers a safe and confidential environment where clients are encouraged and supported while working through their difficulties.

This service can be a lifeline to people when they are most vulnerable so it is a cause worthy of the kind of support it received when it ran its latest innovative fundraising event.

The service ran a pop-up shop and offered something that nobody can resist - quality goods at ridiculously low prices. Fashionistas and supporters of the counselling service, flocked to the temporary shop at BASE and combed the clothing rails looking for bargains.

The clothing was top of the line occasion wear as well as hats, shoes and accessories and all on sale at amazing prices.

It was a blink and you'll miss it opportunity for the eager shoppers though, as the pop-up shop only popped up for four hours.

At the end of the four hours, the clothing rails were far more sparsely populated than they had been at the start of the sale, raising valuable funds for this vital local service.

Fingal Counselling Service declared the event a 'great success' and the money raised will go towards providing their clients with the best service the volunteers can deliver. The service thanked everyone who supported the event.
