Well-travelled Lynn set to launch new photo exhibition

A well-travelled member of Malahide Camera Club is set to unveil a new exhibition featuring her journey to Cuba.

'This is Cuba' is a selection of images from photographer Lynn Feeney's collection documenting Cuban life.

Lynn, a member of the Irish Photographic Federation and the Royal Photographic Society, spent time in Cuba between 2011 and 2016 travelling with local Cuban professional photographer Ramsés Batista.

Their travels took them from Havana to Trinidad, Cienfuegos and Vinales with Ramses' local knowledge gaining them access to private homes and mansions, boxing clubs and blacksmiths, exploring the colours, culture, people and places of a rapidly changing Cuba.

The exhibition forms part of the Cervantes Institute's extensive cultural programme, in collaboration with the Embassy of Cuba in Dublin and was opened by the Cuban Ambassador to Ireland, His Excellency Dr. Hermes Herrera Hernandez.

Her journey in photography began over 15 years ago, now, having attained the LIPF (Licentiate of the Irish Photographic Federation) designation in 2011, Lynn continues to work towards her AFIAP (Artiste FIAP) distinction.

Admission to the exhibition is free and runs until April 21st at Cervantes Institute, Lincoln House, Lincoln Place, Dublin 2 and is sponsored by www.sunholidays.ie.

It is open from 12noon to 7pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and from 12 noon to 9pm on Thursday ad 10am to 2pm on Friday and Saturday.
