ONE of Ireland’s most popular young rock bands are set to rock the walls of Malahide Castle with a special summer gig on June 30.

‘Bell X1’ have just announced the Malahide gig which forms part of a summer tour of the country that will take them to the Marquee in Cork, the following night.

The band that formed out of the ashes of ‘Juniper’ is now made up of Brian Crosby, Dave Geraghty, Paul Noonan and Dominic Phillips and have gained a massive following all over the country in recent years.

In 2005 the band recorded their most successful album yet in Dublin and ‘Flock’ went straight in at number one in the Iris pop charts.

A UK release and a mini-tour of the States followed for the busy and popular band who recorded a live session for a prestigious LA radio show along the way.

In the immediate future, Bell X1 are to play two very special shows to bring in the New Year.

The first, in Killarney at the INEC on the December 30 to celebrate all things Christmasy and the second on New Years Eve, at the Royal Theatre, Castlebar.

Tickets for the Malahide show on June 30, 2007 are already on sale and are available from the usual ticketmaster outlets.
