A book of three plays penned by a local author and playwright has been launched at the Seamus Ennis Arts Centre in Naul.

Those involved in local drama and theatre groups will be particularly interested in the launch of the book entitled 'Three Plays' by the late Tomás O'Riain.

These plays have been performed many times by the Satellite Theatre Company but are now being published together in this new book .

The posthumously published book contains three completely different stories from the dark and menacing 'No room for Heaven' to the side-splitting fun and farce of 'O'Brien's Women' and the sobering and ultimately happy tale of 'Red Biddy'.

Last year, in remembrance of Tomás, and to celebrate his life and also to fulfil his wish to publish some of his work, his partner and fellow Satellite Theatre Company member, Mary Butler-Smyth, published a book of his poetry entitled 'For the Love of my Life' through Choice Publishing.

The Three Plays is the second book to be published since Tomás passed away and the launch was a very special evening at the Naul venue.

The book was officially launched on the night by David Begg and copies were on sale on the night and are now available to buy on Amazon or Choice Publishing's own web site with all proceeds on the launch night going to the Peter Mc Verry Trust and Merchant's Quay Homeless Services.
