The Cure tell fans to 'save the date' but is it for Malahide Castle?

The Fingal Independent understands that The Cure are likely to be one of the headline acts in another series of summer concerts at Malahide Castle, next year.

The band recently teased Irish fans on social media telling them to 'save the date' of June 8 for a gig in Dublin.

Although the band has not revealed the venue as yet, it is understood The Cure are one of the bands in negotiations to play Malahide Castle next June.

The gig will clash with the arrival of Metallica to Slane Castle on the same day and will see the two giant acts compete with each other for ticket sales.

The band have a new album coming out next year, their first in more than 10 years and plan to tour extensively in 2019.

They are likely to feature highly on the festival circuit next year too but the June 8 date would make Malahide Castle the likely venue in Ireland as the concert series normally takes place around then. It could be one of as many as five to six concerts at the spectacular venue, next summer.
