Rush Dramatic Society mix fine performances with charity fundraiser
Rush Dramatic Society has brought down the curtain on yet another successful production at its wonderful Millbank Theatre.
Their four-week run of 'Geraldine Aron's play 'Same Old Moon' was very well received by the audience every night.
Same Old Moon shows us scenes in the life of Brenda Barnes, the aspiring writer. We follow her from age nine to fortyish, and see her eccentric and sometimes fiery Irish family - her wilful and self-destructive Dad, her put-upon, sometimes hot-tempered Mum and many others. A charming, but not uncritical, look at family life, with some wonderful comic moments.
During the course of the run, a charity night was held in aid of Friends of Lusk Community Unit, which was a big success.
Many thanks to all who attended on the night it was great to have a full house and also those who supported in the background with donations.
A special thanks to the many small business in Lusk, Rush and Skerries and also to some a little further afield who donated to the raffle. It was a wonderful entertaining night well played by the members of the Rush Dramatic Society.
Funds raised will go towards providing entertainment for the clients at Lusk Community Unit and also to facilitate outings to give our clients the opportunity to take off their dressing gowns and have a day out!
