Portmarnock Art Group mount 43rd annual exhibition with special guest

Portmarnock Art Group were delighted to welcome Joanna Donnelly, Meteorologist and Author to officially open their 43rd Annual Art Exhibition.

The exhibition took place in Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Links recently with Mayor of Fingal Anthony Lavin in attendance on the opening night.

Portmarnock Art Group was formed in 1976 when a group of local amateur artists in Portmarnock and Malahide came together to explore their love of art.

The group meet in St. Anne's Parish Centre in Portmarnock where they have lectures and talks with visiting professional artists and illustrators. Throughout the year they have workshop demonstrations and meet for paint together sessions locally.

Portmarnock Art Group would like to thank all those who attended and supported the exhibition, including kind sponsors of our raffle prizes. A special word of thanks to Joanna Donnelly, Mayor of Fingal Anthony Lavin and Fingal County Council.

Supported by Fingal County Council, this is Portmarnock Art Group's main exhibition for the year, and will see 32 local artists display a number of paintings each before a discerning crowd.

All proceeds go to the artists, but the raffle held was in aid of the Portmarnock Integrated Arch Club, which caters for people with special needs in the area.

Local artists exhibiting included Herbert Alexander, Helen O'Neill, Mairead Carola, Maura McKeever, Grainne Murphy and 27 other local artists.
