Newbridge is a wonderland
Newbridge House in Donabate was the venue for a terrific afternoon of family entertainment last week with Chapterhouse Theatre who returned to Fingal once again this year and staged the classic tale of 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland'.
Adults and children were spellbound as they joined Alice as she stumbled into the magical world of Wonderland and met a whole host of colourful characters.
From the unforgettable White Rabbit and the madcap Mad Hatter to the terrifying Queen of Hearts, Alice's journey couldn't be filled with more adventure.
Newbridge House was the perfect setting as the production was presented in beautiful Victorian costume and alive with song, dance and original music.
Lovely warm weather allowed families enjoy the production of these captivating tale.
Chapterhouse Theatre, which will celebrate its 20th anniversary next year, took its first steps towards becoming one of a number of touring theatre companies specialising in performing under the stars and at some of the most beautiful gardens the UK had to offer.
The very first performance was at Herstmonceux Castle where the company performed Romeo and Juliet by the moat of the beautiful Tudor building.
It was the start of an incredible two decades which has seen the company go from strength to strength changing and adapting to new audiences and challenges every year but holding the same principals of producing warm, traditional and hopefully magical theatre in magical surroundings.
