Loreto students attend the Doodle4Google grand final
Two talented students from Loreto Balbriggan who made it through to the national finals of the 'Doodle4Google' competition narrowly missed out on the top prize.
Emma Landers and Daire Stafford both attended the grand final ceremony in Google's EMEA headquarters in Dublin.
Emma designed a doodle about tomorrow's world which I think is a robots world. The robots are all pieced together and not complete, showing that we are not completely ready for tomorrows world.
Dáire designed a doodle on the journey to a better world. The first G is the world now and with each letter from recycling to peace in the world we can get to the better world which is the final E. The word Google shows what tasks are needed to create a better world.
Speaking at the Grand Final, Fionnuala Meehan, VP and head of Google Ireland said, "It's been a fantastic year for the our Doodle 4 Google competition, which continues to grow every year. We're always blown away by the standard of entries we receive and this year was no exception.
'It was great to see such creativity and innovation in the entries we received which made it very difficult for our judges and for the public who vote for our group winners.'
Almost half a million public votes were cast
