Last trad session signals the sad end of Oscar Taylor's
A long running tradition on the Malahide to Portmarnock Coast Road has come to an end with the final trad session at Oscar Taylor's.
Musicians who have kept up the tradition for years came together in huge numbers to play the last jigs and reels at the venue as the restaurant and pub prepared to shut its doors for the last time.
Oscar Taylor's and the Island View have been permanent fixtures in the social lives of people from Malahide and Portmarnock as well as further afield for decades.
But earlier this year, the businesses announced they would close their doors for the last time and this week, that moment is coming to pass.
It will be a sad day for locals and of course for the staff and management of Oscar Taylor's and the Island View but there was not a hint of mourning in the air at the last trad session where there was plenty of joyful tunes belted out by a fine group of local musicians.
