Harps launch 'The Chaser' to raise funds

Based on a television show of a similar name, The Chaser is the latest fundraising idea dreamed up by the good people at Skerries Harps as they pursue further development at this great Fingal GAA Club.

The Chaser will see club members go up against a quizzing expert and test their wits against the master quizzer in a battle of brains for the ages.

The initiative was launched last week at the Skerries Harps Clubhouse where members were briefed on what is planned for the special event.

Local Skerries Harps hero and three-in-a-row All-Ireland winner as well as the Fingal Independent's reigning Sport Star of the Year, Lyndsey Davey was on hand on launch night to set the ball rolling for the event.

'The Chaser' will take place in City North Hotel in Gormanston on October 27 and promises to be a great night whether you are participating or just part of the audience, relieved you are not up there under the lights answering those tricky general knowledge questions.

The fundraiser is aiming to raise funds for The Skerries Harps Capital Development Programme.

The development programme includes plans for a new all-weather pitch and a ball wall.

There are a range of sponsorship options available for the event and anyone interested in those should contact Joanne at the club on 0864058523.

The club has asked all of its teams to work with the organising committee to obtain three sponsors for the event.

With a month to go to the big night, the excitement is building locally and everyone is looking forward to what promises to be a night to remember for the Skerries club.

Everyone is welcome to attend and tickets are already available from the club for a night that promises to be a memorable one.
