Great Malahide Quiz

THE annual Great Malahide Quiz being held this year in the Tara Suite at the Grand Hotel Malahide on Thursday. Its in its fifth year and will mark the opening of the Malahide festival.

The entry fee is €40 per team of 4. Tickets available on the night or Duffy's Pub and we will have roving sales teams in local pubs in the run up to ...the quiz. Lots of prizes.

2 Fingal Folk Club, pictured right, meets again this Friday and members and friend will be performing a song from every county in Ireland.

This was a spectacular show last year when performed it as we got all the singers to wear their county colours. Concerts start at 8pm sharp and end about 10.15pm

Admission is €5 for adults, which includes refreshments.

Concerts take place in St Patrick's Hall Ballyboughal on the first and last Friday of the month.

3 Former Eurovision winner and well-known Irish artist Charlie McGettigan, pictured left, will be performing in Fingal later this month. McGettigan will be appearing at the Seamus Ennis Arts Centre on Saturday, July 26.

He is perhaps best known to most as winning the Eurovision song contest in 1994 with Paul Harrington for 'Rock 'n' Roll Kids'.

As well as excelling in musicianship, Charlie is also a raconteur, and regularly leaves audiences in peals of laughter.

Appearing with Charlie, are two of America's finest country and bluegrass artists, Gary Gene Ferguson from Pennsylvania and Gary Alan Ferguson from Virginia. Tickets €18 from or 01 802 0898.

4 Duffys in Malahide rounds off another great month of live entertainment this weekend with a number of great performers booked to play,

On Friday, Desire will play, starting at 10pm.

On Saturday it will be the turn of East Coast, while on Sunday there will be trad music at 7pm, with Guilty Party taking to the floor at 9pm.

5 CAKE, an extraordinary experience for all the senses, takes place every Saturday at 10.30pm at the Wright Venue in Swords.
