Fundraiser for Swords Intercultural Festival
The hugely successful fledgling Swords Intercultural Festival is making a return this year and before that happens, there are funds to be raised to make this year's festival bigger and better than last year's successful debut.
A Quiz Night is being held in The Old Borough pub on Thursday June 6 with a kick off at 8pm to raise funds for the 2020 Swords Intercultural Festival in Swords Castle.
Swords Tidy Towns Chairperson and one of the organisers of the festival, Ken Duffy told the Fingal Independent: 'We have a very dedicated committee which is made up of different nationalities who are working very hard to make the festival a reality and a great success.'
He added: 'Our committee have put their full support behind this festival as it fits in very well with our integration policy.
'The national integration average is 12%, in Fingal it is 18.2% and this festival will show off that diversity through its music, food and dance.'
Mr Duffy said: 'It is estimated there are over 40 nationalities residing within the Swords area, Swords Tidy Towns believe our diversity is worth celebrating.
'So please come out and join us at The Old Borough for a fun night of Craic Agus Ceol. The festival committee look forward to seeing you all there and thank you in advance for your support.'
