Fingal Fleadh's huge potential
The Fingal Fleadh which saw a traditional Irish music festival come to Swords Castle for the first time, is set to make a return next year and the council is planning to 'grow and improve' the festival.
Cllr Tom O'Leary (FG) said the festival had 'massive potential' to attract tourism to the area and he asked if the council had plans to 'upgrade and increase the promotion of the Fingal Fleadh'.
In response, the council stated: 'The council's events team are currently reviewing the Fingal Fleadh 2017 with a view to critically evaluating the event and providing learnings for the future.
'Following that exercise these learnings will be inputted into the events planning process for 2018.
'It is hoped the Fingal Fleadh will grow and improve in 2018 through various methods including increased promotion.'
The festival saw its debut this year and was centred at Swords Castle but saw events run right across the Fingal capital.
