Fingal enjoys Culture Night
What a Culture Night it was in Fingal recently when venues all over the county were filled with the visual arts, drama and music.
From trad sessions at Skerries Mills to music and song in Swords Castle and exploring the extraordinary mark that artists like Harry Clarke have made on Fingal, there was something for everything to enjoy.
Culture night breathed life into some of our great heritage buildings as they were turned into arts venues for the night and for course there were regular arts venues, like the Millbank Theatre flinging their doors open to all-comers for a night of drama.
Culture Night is all about access to the arts and encourages people who do not usually dip their toes into artistic waters, to go and sample some of the incredible culture in our midst.
The initiative achieves that by making all the events on Culture Night absolutely free and all around the county the results were clear to see with people enthusiastically lapping up the wide range of cultural endeavours that could be witnessed across Fingal on what was a magical night.
It seems to be an initiative that is here to stay and people who went out and sampled what was on offer this year, will no doubt be looking forward to the return of Culture Night to Fingal around this time, next year.
