Balbriggan Feis was a toe-tapping, high energy dance weekend
The annual Balbriggan Feis was a toe-tapping, high-energy event organised over two days.
Hundreds of youngsters descended on Clann Mhuire GAA Club to raise funds for the Balbriggan/North County Dublin branch of The Irish Guide Dogs Association.
The Féis gives dancers from the ages of five to Over 19s the opportunity to get as much competition practise in as possible for upcoming major Irish dancing competitions, such as the World Championships, which are due to take place in Belfast during Easter.
It is organised by Anne McFadden and her husband Damien O'Shaughnessy, who have their McFadden/O'Shaughnessy Irish Dancing Schools in Balbriggan, Naul and Donnycarney in Drogheda
Once again there was a really high standard of Irish dancing through the whole weekend and it was a pleasure to host such a wonderful Feis.
Many thanks to our adjudicating panel; Ms. Mary Baxter ADCRG, Ms. Clare Doyle ADCRG, Ms. Christina Concannon ADCRG, Ms. Angela Doyle ADCRG, Mr. Brendan McKenna ADCRG and Mr. Adrian Gallagher ADCRG and to the Wandering Musicians Kevin and Sean Warren.
A special thanks to the local teachers who helped all the way through the weekend and to the parents and the pupils of the McFadden O'Shaughnessy school for all their hard work.
Finally thanks was extended the Clann Mhuire GAA team in the Naul. We hope to see many of you back next year.
